Personalized Learning Units for Biology Concepts

Below are the Personalized Learning Units I (with the help of some amazing colleagues) have created and used in the past 2 years with my students.  These lessons contain activities that I have collected over 23 years from numerous teachers, conferences, workshops and other sources as well as making some myself.  I do not have the sources for most of these and apologize if they are yours and you are not given credit (I can delete them if necessary) but they are all used for the benefit of students.  The reason I am sharing these units is because as a teacher I believe ALL students should have access to any lesson that could benefit them, whether these students are mine or not.  So, I want to give teachers access to these if they'd like them.  I do have the teacher notes and other teacher materials (grading sheet, oral defense questions, etc) available upon request.

I would also like you to know that these are in no way "perfect".  I (and my colleagues) continue to modify and make new lessons every year.  I find mistakes all the time and I am slowly replacing lessons to make these truly personalized - some are just different versions of the same learning style.

The best thing about Personalized Learning (or whatever your school is calling it) is that teachers can personalize it for themselves, too!  I hope these are helpful!

If you have questions, or would like an explanation of how I use PL or assess my students, email me at mnapier@ccisd.net

All children deserve the best we can give,
